TANTALIZING TALES & GORY SENSATIONS WILL BE FEATURED ON TRUCKEE'S HISTORICAL HAUNTED TOUR
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18 AND FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2012
Historical Haunted Tour announces 2012 haunts and sponsors.
Truckee, CA - August 15, 2012 - Spirits of days gone by will be summoned to haunt the streets of historic Truckee, CA during the adults-only Historical Haunted Tour on Thursday, October 18 and Friday, October 19, 2012.
"Unforeseen treats and startling spooks are planned for the 2012 Historical Haunted Tour," shares Christina Stoever-Young of Sunshine Tahoe, the producer of Truckee's annual Historical Haunted Tour.
"We'll be kicking off both evenings at Moody's Bistro Bar & Beats and dare you to join us as we embark on a journey like no other in downtown Truckee!"
The much loved annual walking tour attracts over 300 attendees, more than sixty volunteers and features tales of yore with a memorable and entertaining twist at Truckee's historic gems and watering holes. The spooky walking tour begins with a glass of wine, interesting characters and a prize packed raffle at Moody's.
"We're a part of Truckee and the Truckee Hotel is a famous part of Truckee's history," shares restaurateur JJ Morgan of Moody's who is proud to return as the tour's host sponsor for the third year in a row. New featured haunts include the downtown Mountain Home Center, MOBO Law, Bespoke, Coffee Bar and Scraps Dog Bakery. And, attendees will return to favorite stops - The Pour House and the Old Jail Museum.
Historians and researchers from the Truckee Donner Historical Society spearhead the tales about Truckee's Wild West railroad roots. At each stop, attendees' imagination and senses will be tapped by original performances, visits from the infamous Truckee Regulators and songs by the Barbershop Quartet. It is rumored a libation or two will also be featured when least expected.
There will be never before told stories about the scars left by raging fires and the tragic mishaps on the rails in Truckee. And, for the first time, the tour will dive into the lingering haunts left by Wells, Fargo & Co.'s Haunted Express Train Car #5. Attendees will experience the most gory, frightening and amusing tour this October.
In addition to attending the Historical Haunted Tour, Stoever-Young encourages visitors to enjoy a weekend full of hiking, fishing and dining all accessible from the Tour's lodging partners: The Richardson House, a restored seven bedroom Victorian vacation home with a modern kitchen that accommodates up to 12 people, The River Street Inn, and the recently renovated Truckee Hotel.
"We are especially thankful to Spin Games, The Richardson House, Truckee Chamber of Commerce, and Squeeze In for their support of the fourth annual Historical Haunted Tour," shares Stoever-Young. Event media partners include Sierra Sun, The Weekly, Moonshine Ink and KTKE Truckee Tahoe Radio.
The Historical Haunted Tour, a fundraiser for Trails & Vistas and the Truckee Donner Historical Society, has raised more than $15,000 for the two nonprofits. Admission is $35 per person. Tickets will go on sale Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at truckeehistorytour.com. The Tour is limited to 350 people. For the most up to date information visit the blog at truckeehistorytour.com.
