Heavenly Ski Resort

Heavenly Ski Resort, located in South Lake Tahoe, is the farthest Tahoe area ski resort from Truckee. For an extended Truckee Skiing vacation, it is well worth the drive around the lake to enjoy the Tram ride and FANTASTIC views of Lake Tahoe! Check the road conditions first though, the road South on Hwy 89 is often closed in the winter time around the Emerald Bay area.

My son, Ryan was just at the top of Heavenly Mountain a few days ago, and took a bunch of pictures for my site, so they will be added as soon as I get them.

In the summertime, it is a gorgeous day trip to drive around the lake, ride the tram to the top of Heavenly Mountain where you can have lunch, and access a bunch of hiking trails and enjoy the fantastic views of the Lake. Then continue on around the lake and back to Truckee.
